Event Description:

Venture out in search of wildlife with a Backcountry staff member. We'll actively look for wildlife and try to provide photo opportunities. Learn more about what animals call the Backcountry home.

Spring is when the turkeys return to the Backcountry to mate. Come out and watch these unique birds strut, cluck and gobble. If the birds aren't in a chatty mood, we'll still have a great time around a campfire roasting s'mores.

Turkeys are very sensitive to color and movement. Hikers will need to remain still when turkeys are close so as not to scare them away. Wearing natural colors (greens, tans, browns, grays) or camo is encouraged. Closed toe shoes are REQUIRED. Dress appropriately for the weather. Bring water. We provide all the s'more materials and a cozy campfire.

Please note: These hikes are subject to weather. If we do have to cancel, we will contact you via the phone number on file.

What to Bring: Closed toe shoes are required. Wear natural colored clothing - turkeys can see in color and we don't want to stand out. Bring water. Dress for the weather.
