Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area

The AHRA is co-managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Bureau of Land Management.  We are a 152-long recreation area which stretches along the Arkansas River from just below Leadville, CO to Lake Pueblo, CO.  AHRA manages recreational use of the waters of and public lands along the Arkansas River, both private and commercial.  AHRA is in a very unique cultural, historical and geological area of South Central Colorado, and a large variety of outdoor recreation activities abound.  AHRA is committed to providing visitors and residents alike opportunities to enjoy and learn about the area and its resources, including land, wildlife, water and people.
